Treasure Hunting

What a great time we had in Florida.  Everything was in bloom when we arrived in Jupiter.  This yellow tree looked just like sunshine!

Lunch at the marina was so relaxing...
We started our journey on Old Dixie Highway's antique row.  These striking doors made me stop!  There were so many great shops and treasures that we didn't have enough time to finish it all!

The pale pinks of a pastel mid-century painting paired with the acrylic furnishings were light and ethereal.

The acrylic game table would be a great statement in an office or NYC apartment.  The ball feet add a regal touch.

I just love this capiz shell table!  How great would it look in front of a mid-century sofa!  Love to see it painted in a high gloss chalk white.

Just as I was walking out the door I spotted this chandelier shade.  It reminds me of my Mother's Chanel suit.    I would love to remove the tassel and replace it with an over-sized crystal.

How great are these foo dogs and their little friend as watch dogs for your entry or pool.

We really enjoyed the Lars Bolander showroom.  It was brimming with butterflies and colorful art and is one of my all-time favorite spots in Palm Beach.

These hand-blown glass fixtures have a beautiful patina.  You could even change the color of the light-bulbs for different effects.

There was a sweet elephant relaxing under an umbrella in the showroom.

This unique shell shop in town offers everything from large coral pieces to spectacular chandeliers

The cool obelisk floor lamp would be a dramatic addition to any lanai or patio.

Shell chandeliers can be customized to any size or color

I really wanted to bring these little guys home from sunning at Mecox Gardens outdoor patio.

Their friends the griffins would be interesting conversation pieces for a foyer.

Studio E Gallery had several works by Kim Schuessler

a favorite sculpture of mine by Mackenzie Thorpe was on display at Onessimo Fine Art

In the midst of all the shopping we almost forgot to pick up our sea creature chair from the upholsterer!

new home for soho chair!

Salvaged in a pile of antique chairs in an old warehouse in Connecticut...

Refurbished and refreshed in Quadrille Alan Campbell Soho linen

Now, this lucky little chair is going to be auctioned off at the Sundance School Gala Fundraiser!

I know he will find a happy home.

But for now, Kate is off to Palm Beach to hunt for more treasures!

garden pots, vessles, and topiary

I love Spring with the fresh greens popping thru the ground.  Even the birds are happy!

The daffodils so dewy and fresh

The simple beauty and sculptural organic shapes of old estate garden pots and urns

or reproduction vessels cast from the old estate originals

Topiary, so sculptural sitting high on their pots!

The beautiful colors of spring are so inspiring and refreshing

French ceramic containers with mottled patina

All you need is that one statement piece!
